  6. If you have arrived at this point, you have obviously unzipped the
  7. files in TUTPAS.ZIP, but you may have them all in one directory.
  8. If you execute the following command, you will have three direc-
  9. tories under C:\TUTOR\PAS (or any directory you specify), named TEXT,
  10. SOURCE, and ANSWERS with the proper files in each directory.  It is
  11. not a requirement that you separate the files, it is only a conven-
  12. ience.  You may wish to unzip the files again to get this file
  13. structure. (You must use pkunzip version 2 or newer.)

  18.    Getting started with the TEXT directory
  19.  
  20. Before you begin studying Pascal, you must print out a copy of the
  21. tutorial text.  The file named PRINTEXT.BAT is designed to help you
  22. do this.  Simply type the name PRINTEXT at the DOS prompt and all of
  23. the tutorial text will be printed for you.  This batch file uses the
  24. executable file named PRNTTEXT.EXE to print the files.  This execut-
  25. able file prints the files with 8 spaces at the beginning of each
  26. line for neat formatting.  It will print about 100 pages.

  29.    Getting started with the SOURCE directory
  30.  
  31. If you desire, a printout of all example Pascal files can be made 
  32. the PRINTALL.BAT file included.  Simply type PRINTALL at the
  33. command prompt with the printer on and lots of paper in place. It
  34. will print about 150 pages.  You may want to edit a copy of the
  35. PRINTALL.BAT file to only print part of the files initially, and
  36. print the remainder as you come to them in the lessons. 
  37. PRINTALL.BAT uses the file LIST.EXE to actually do the printing.

  61. Pascal, Modula-2, C, and C++.  Other languages are being considered
  62. but we need your thoughts as to what other languages should be cov-
  63. ered with a tutorial next.  Please write and let us know your needs.

  65. This tutorial is available in a completely printed form.  It was
  66. very carefully designed with easy to read fonts and printed with a
  67. laser printer.  Diagrams for the pointer examples are included
  68. which add to the clarity of understanding.  It is impossible to
  69. include diagrams on a Shareware ASCII disk, so these are made
  70. available to you separately as listed below.
